CHAIRPERSON’S MESSAGE

Dear Colleague

The travel industry faces constant change, and the need for cohesion amongst professional travel management companies has never been greater.

The Association of Travel Management Companies (ATMC) is the peak industry body for Travel Management Companies in this region.

Currently in these challenging times, ATMC is fully supportive of having a second domestic carrier and consider Virgin Australia a viable product in the right hands and with a financial configuration enabling competitive fares to be offered. 
Corporate travellers require choice, frequency, schedule dependability and coverage to continue to transact business and deliver growth. 
Virgin Australia has played a significant role in the development of air services to the regions in recent years. The investment in a fleet of ATR72 turboprop aircraft and acquisition of Western Australian based carrier Skywest has provided customers with alternatives and provided competition across secondary but important markets. The introduction of business lounges and other innovations has delivered good corporate market share. 
While it will require significant increase in demand post COVID 19 and a return to frequencies previously experienced will be unlikely in the short term, the ATMC believes that two strong domestic carriers will contribute to the increase in pace of the economic recovery.

The ATMC members whose combined revenues exceed $3 billion employ in excess of 2,000 travel industry professionals throughout Australia.

The Association key objective’s are to:

Represent the interests and concerns of members to our industry partners

Work together to ensure greater collaboration between major suppliers and TMC’s in customer interaction

Provide market feedback and commentary in relation to pricing, commissions and other tactics introduced by suppliers

Effectively promote and provide information on the value proposition of TMC’s to the corporate travel market

Provide concrete information on the services and benefits provided by a TMC versus airline or an online travel provider

Through collaboration seek to establish best practice within our industry
